Tell Me More Tuesdays

Here are this week's ?s:

1. Have you ever ate a bug, or anything else that isn't food?

2. Colors, do they make you think of anything? ex:Purple=Passion

3. Do you decorate for the holidays?

4. If you were one of the 7 dwarfs, which one would it be? (I saw this one somewhere).

5. Beef, Pork or Chicken?
My Answers:
1. Not that I recall.
2. When I think of colors they represent different emotions/thoughts for me. For example, purple is royalty. Blue is moody. Yellow is cheery. Red is passionate.
3. I use to decorate for the holidays when my kids were younger. I still make an attempt to do so. If anything, I put a flag outside that represents that month's holiday or so. I think the holidays I decorate the most for is Halloween and Christmas. Though Halloween techinally is not a holiday.
4. I would totally be Sleepy. Or maybe even Grumpy. Hehehe. I don't get enough sleep as it is so I'm sleepy throughout the day and on occassions have been a grump.
5. My first choice of meat is beef, than chicken, than pork. I love the concept of being a vegetarian but I don't think I could ever commit to that kind of lifestyle.

Self Reflection Tuesday

I don't know how to answer this week's question. I am drawing a blank. But I wanted to go ahead and share this Meme with you all in case you were interested in answering or participating in it. Here's the question.

This week the theme is: Do you ever see yourself as a character in a television show or a movie? Share what (if anything) you have learned from watching it.

Next week: You have unlimited money, unlimited time, and unlimited space to build your dream house. What is the one room you would put in it just for you?

I hope to be able to answer next week! Have a good day!

Meet Me Monday!

I had told

that I'd follow her Monday Blog Hop

I try to keep my word when I can. So here it is and here I am. I admit I am getting addicted to these things!

Monday Minute

Monday Minute

This is the first time I am doing this. I thought I'd play along. They have a guest hostess and this week it is

Here are the questions~!

Who was your high school sweetheart?
I actually had three. They were short ones. My longest one was about three months or so. I actually am in touch with two of the three even now thanks to Facebook. Nice to know that one can do that with past relationships such as high school.

What's your favorite vegetable to eat?
I have a hard time with vegetables as they are not my favorite. But I guess I like the starches that being corn and potato. So I have 2!

Do you plan on dressing up for Halloween, if yes, what do you have in mind?
I have no idea if I'll be dressing up for Halloween or not. My kids are aging out of the Halloween thing save for my youngest. If I do dress up it may be with the Ren stuff I have.

Are you a reality show junkie? If so, what is your guilty pleasure?
I watch a lot of tv. Guess that is my guilty pleasure. I love watching Top Chef but Chasing Mummies is a close second. See that whole I watch a lot of tv. Can't make up my mind with just one!

What year did you graduate High School?
Hahahaha. I graduated in 1992.

Meet & Greet Monday

This is where I'll be hanging out today! Hope to see you there!

Monday Monday Monday

which means I'm back! I seem to have more time during the week to visit and participate in anything blogwise.  Here is one of them!

1. What is your favorite kind of potato chip?

2. Do you make your bed everyday?

3. How often do you go to the hair salon?

4. What do you dip your French fries in?

5 Do you shop with coupons?

1. I love any kind of potato chip truth be told. But my favorite is sour cream and chedder. If I am not careful I can finish a whole bag!

2. No I do not make my bed everyday. I don't see  the point. And with the husband who works nights there's always someone in bed sleeping.

3. I can't remember the last time I went to the hair salon so I guess its safe to say I don't go enough!

4. I usually don't dip my french fries in anything. But I have been known on occassion to use ranch dressing, mustard and bbq sauce. Not all the same time of course!

5. Yes, indeed I do shop with coupons!

Mommy Blogger

Woo the weekend just seems to fly by around here. I love it though since that is when we are all together. Having a husband that works nights makes time valuable. Anyways, I wanted to spotlight a blogger I read. She made this wonderful button.

Friday Blog Hops

Wow I'm tired tonight and have nothing to say for now. I'm sure I will later! So for now I leave you the Friday hops I follow :) Hope to see you there.

Let's Just Give It Away

My Wee View

This Makes Me Angry

Even if you are a whore, you don't want to be raped. A b**** can turn 25 hundred tricks a day and she still don't want nobody to rape her. It's the worst thing that can happen to a woman. "Lady Day"

I will never be less furious and bitter about the way society views rape and the infinite number of pyschological rapes until society changes. Lois Phillips Hudson

I started reading this book before going to bed tonight. Ha not good reading material for bed as it just got me all frustrated and what not. The two quotes above are from the book. Its also my most two recent status on my facebook and I just had to babble over here for a moment. Than a friend of mine shared this link with me.

As that old Christian hymn goes..."This world is not my home. I'm just passing thru..."

That is what I'll cling to.

Trying a new blog hop out!

Obviously MARvelous

Hope to see you all there!

Traveling Light

I just finished reading this book by Max Lucado. Lucado has been one of my favorite christian authors. Ever since I 'discovered' him when I was in college and my club sisters would use his books as part of our devotionals. There's been some strife going on in my life so I thought I'd go back to the basic's and checked out all these books by the man. This book I picked randomly and I am glad I did. I will never look at Psalm 23 again. Lucado reminds us that we are not alone in this journey called life. That we have a loving Father that calls us home. To hold onto that no matter what burdens we carry. That our God is the burden carrier. I'd highly recommend this book. Its a pretty quick and understandable book. That's the thing I like about Lucado. He's easy to read and he doesn't go over my head and if I don't have a lot of time to read just reading a few pages from him gives me encouragement.

*I was not paid to endorse this product. The opinon expressed is entirely my own.*

Women of Faith

This is where I will be going in a few short weeks. I will be going with my sisters and Mom. My younger sister had won 4 free front row tickets and hotel at last year's WOF . I think it will be a lot of fun since I haven't gone in quite a few years. I defintly could use this kind of weekend.

These are the speakers that will be there. I'm excited that Michelle from Biggest Loser will be speaking. But it makes me wonder where Patsy Clairemont will be. She's one of my favorite. But I haven't really kept up with this event's happenings to be in the know of what is all going on there.

I'm also thrilled that http://womenoffaith.com/events/line-up/natalie-grant/ will be one of the performers. I just recently discovered her actually. Thru a blog. I wish I could remember which one. Her music really soothes me.

If you don't know what Women of Faith is I'd encourage you to look at their website.

Blog Hop Thursday

I have found I really do like blog hops and the meme's. It helps me come up with things to write and I have met a lot of interesting people. I hope people have found me interesting to. I thought I'd follow a new hop this Thursday so here it is!

2. Please visit as many blogs as possible.

3. If someone visits your blog please visit theirs back, but I know that we don’t like all blogs we visit so don’t feel obligated to follow back if you don’t want.

Welcome Wednesday

Random Dozen

I am starting a new Memo/Blog Hop/Whatever You Call It. 2nd Cup of Coffee is the hostess!

1. What is your favorite Mexican dish?
I love burritos. I could eat them everyday and not get tired of them. I especially love the burritos that have shredded beef in them. I also tend to have the kind that is wet. With either enchilada sauce or the green sauce. Mmmm.

2. When you were a kid, did you get started on your homework right away after school, or did you procrastinate?
Wow that is so long ago. I think I started homework right away. I know when I was a teenager and working I would try to get as much as I could done before having to go to my shift but I found myself up late finishing homework. Especially my senior year as I had seniorities.

3. What is your favorite store for home furnishings?
I really am not into home furnishings I guess. Its not like I have to go to a particular store. Target and Walmart suit me just fine. I've never been to IKEA.

4. When you were young, did you like school lunches?
Yes! One of my favorite things to do was to buy the school lunch. It beat having to eat balony sandwiches.

5. Is religion a crutch?
It can be for some people. But I think its also a personal preference. I like having a religion to follow. But maybe its not religion for me nessicarly but having faith.

6. In your region, what is the "big" (most popular in the community or state) high school sport?
Soccer and Baseball seem to have the biggest parades, events around. I'm a soccer mom so I defintly know about soccer!

7. Do you consider yourself rich?
I'm rich in my blessings. Materialisticly I belive I'm just average.

8. Which of these would you have the best chance for success in administering:

B) Heimlich Maneuver

C) Changing a flat tire

CPR as I was trained in it. But I haven't used it in many years.

9. Which dance would you prefer to learn & why:

A) Salsa

B) Hip Hop

C) Waltz

D) Swing

Salsa because that just sounds enticing and exciting!

10. What's the worst news you've ever delivered to someone?
Telling my husband I got into an arguement with his daughter.

11. Name something you learned in college that had nothing to do with classes or academics.
My youth minister gave me some good advice that I've learned a lot from. Classes and getting good grades are a good thing but being there and staying up late for a friend is better. I'm paraphrasing that but that is the general jist I got from it. Its true. Relationships are the most important. When people look at you they won't remember how well you did in classes or how much you achieved in academics.

12. New variation on an old question: If there's a song in your head that just won't get out, what is your favorite (or most repeated) line in that song?
Its usually the chorus or a catchy phrase. I try to watch a Youtube video of the song to get it out of my head if I can.

Tell Me Tuesday

Today's ?s

1. Can you sneeze and fart at the same time? Without peeing yourself?
Hahaha. Umm I am sure I have done that a time or two. My biggest combination is laughing and farting. Maybe that's tmi but that's me!

2. Have you ever farted in the tub?
Oh sure I have.

3. When was the last time you cursed?
Its not a everyday occurance as I try to watch my mouth as a Christian and a Mom. I can't remember the last time I cursed but I know it happens.

4. If you were a superhero, what would your name be?

5. Use 1 word to describe yourself.

Go visit

If you'd like to play along!

Self Reflection Tuesday

Today's Theme -- If you were given one superpower for only 24 hours, what would your power be and how would you use it? Give us examples of your new found skills ... it doesn't matter if you are saving the world or the kitty cat in the tree.

You know you want to do Self Reflection Tuesday! Anyways here's my response.
For me, I would probably use the power of invisiblity. I say that because I worry about my kids when they are in school. Especially my youngest. But I don't want to be seen as this nosy mother or overbearing. So I'd use the invisiblity to check in on him to make sure all is well. He is having a hard time adjusting to the upper grades so far. He had a hard 3rd grade year and I'm not sure how 4th grade will be. So I'd like to see for myself how things really are going. I was talking to my husband earlier about this prompt and it dawned on me that I would indeed use this ablility on both of my kids. Because the girl is a middle schooler and middle school nowadays is not the same middle school experience I had as a kid. But that would only be during the school hours. I'm not certain what I would do with the other hours I have left. Perhaps do a good deed community wise. But I wouldn't want the spotlight. So now, I literally can do something behind the scene and know that I did something good for another who may not be as blessed as me. I am always trying to be a people pleaser so I would most likely take advantage of the invisiblity to 'lisen in' to others that may speak of me. I know that people's opinon of me shouldn't matter but it does.
Next Week's Theme (8/30) -- Do you ever see yourself as a character in a television show or a movie? Share what (if anything) you have learned from watching it.

Meet Me Monday

1. What is your favorite kind of doughnut?

2. How often do you pray?

3. What is your favorite kind of music?

4. What do you order when you eat Chinese food?

5. Would you rather snowboard in the winter or swim in the summer?

My Answers:

1. My favorite kind of doughnut is the chocolate glazed doughnuts.

2. I don't pray as much as I should. I try to pray at minimum when we all come together for dinner. But I find I do my most praying when there's a crisis or when I am trying to go to sleep.

3. I like all sorts of music. I have a hard time listening to rap though. And of course that seems to be my daughter's favorite kind of music. Alot of times I have to tell her to turn it off.

4. Its been a long time since I have had chinese food. But my favorite dish is Mongolian beef. I like how it has a little kick to it.

5. I would rather swim in the summer than snowboard in the winter. I really don't like the cold.

Weekend Wrap Up

We sort of had a low key weekend before we are hit with the soccer season. But our Sunday sure was a busy one. This is a picture heavy post as I figured pictures tell a thousand words or so!

This was the first time for me to go to any race of any kind here in California. The last time I had gone to a race was when I was 15 and living in DE. Because my son is in cub scouts he got to get in free. But when we went to a event that showed off the BSA car a man there gave us all free tickets so we were all able to get in free! Not a bad deal. Though the sun was hot and the walk to and from was horrific. I still enjoyed myself.

As you can see the boy could take it or leave it when it came to watching the race.

Its a bad picture as I was using my phone and we were not close to the scoreboard. But the drivers had to do 75 laps.

I wore tennis shoes but I still managed to get a blister. On the way there I had to use the bathroom from eating and drinking lunch so that was uncomfortable. Heehee. And than on the way back to the car I felt like I was a contestant for Biggest Loser. I didn't think I'd make it to the car cause I felt like I was going to throw up a couple of times. The man said I had gotten overheated. It wasn't fun, netherless.

On our way out. It has a different name but around here we still call it Sears Point. Even with the blister and the hot weather I wouldn't mind doing this again. It defintly was a different experience!

Meet And Greet Monday

Southern Reflections is the host. And her words are better than mine. So I hope you all join us in this hop!

Please Read For Updates On MGM!!

So...I've been brainstorming for a while. Since I started branching out in the blogging world, I really wanted to spread the good news of my grandfather's mission, International Christian Mission through my blog!! I don't know if some of y'all remember, but I created a challenge to my readers to help spread the news of ICM a couple months ago. For every new follower my blog gained, I would donate 25 cents to ICM. In one month alone, I donated $55, and guess what?? My challenge to you is BACK!!! Only this time I am making it a part of my Meet & Greet Monday hop!! :o) The past two weeks I tried MGM with 'no rules.' The first week I got a great response from those who linked up, and the second week was still a great week, but I had some people take advantage of the 'no rule' hop by linking some not so family friendly sites on a clearly family friendly blog. I do monitor my hop, but I cannot sit all day at the computer to do so!!

Here's How MGM Works Now!!!
First of all, please only link up family friendly blogs...Thank you!! There are still no requirements to participate in this hop; I want you to have fun meeting and greeting with as many people as you want!! The challenge, however, is that you spread the news of this hop so I can help spread the news of ICM!! Tell everyone about this hop, this challenge, and this AWESOME mission: ICM!! :o) For every new follower my blog gains, I will donate 25 cents to ICM...How awesome is it that you as my readers can help out a cause just by spreading the news!! My goal is not to rack up on followers for followers sake, but to share the news of an amazing cause with as many people as I can!! I'm working on setting up a paypal account here soon for donations that can be made straight to the mission as well as a new button for MGM with ICM!! Please pray for this mission and the INCREDIBLE work of the Lord that is taking place in the lives of many precious orphans over in Cambodia, and please give as you are willing and as you feel led!! :o)
And That's Not All!!
This is the first week where you can link up whatever you want...your blogs, Facebook pages, twitter, whatever you would like (as long as it is family friendly ;o) Please just specify which is which!! I am hoping this will benefit all of you, so please let me know what you think, and I'll let you know how it went in my comments later on today. I'm thinking about adding a prayer request linky along with my MGM linky eventually. I have great things in store. Thank y'all SO much for your follow, spreading the GOOD news of ICM, and for linking up and visiting today!! My blog has really enjoyed having you here!!

Meal Plan

Here is my plan for the week. It is tenative as we are expecting some hot days so I'll have to think of something cooler. For example, I was going to cook London Broil tonight but I don't want to use my broiler and warm up the kitchen to much. But I'm going to go go ahead and share what I have and hopefully remember next week what I did and didn't do to share with you all :)

London Broil
Hot dogs/Hamburgers
Chicken Nuggets (Homemade and my husband makes them!)

Biscuits and Gravy
Hamburger Helper

I'm using Organizing Junkie. Well following the ladies there that are using this.

I hope I did that right! Have a good day!

Long Weekend

I'm kind of scarce on the weekends as I count that as family time and have a tendency to stay off the computer etc. That's why I usually don't join any blog hops for Saturday and Sunday for example. And right now I'm suppose to go to the grocery store and take care of things. But first, I think I will nap! So my Monday adventures (Meal Plan, Meet and Greet Monday) will be posted in a little while. I hope you all are having a fablous start to the week!

This Is What We Did Today

The Boy Scouts of America had their race car on display for the races that are going on this weekend. I'm glad the boy got the oppournity to see it and get in it. No he didn't race in it or anything just was able to sit in it. But we scored free tickets to see the races tomorrow! Woo hoo! Can't beat that!
