Self Reflection Tuesday

Today's Theme -- If you were given one superpower for only 24 hours, what would your power be and how would you use it? Give us examples of your new found skills ... it doesn't matter if you are saving the world or the kitty cat in the tree.

You know you want to do Self Reflection Tuesday! Anyways here's my response.

For me, I would probably use the power of invisiblity. I say that because I worry about my kids when they are in school. Especially my youngest. But I don't want to be seen as this nosy mother or overbearing. So I'd use the invisiblity to check in on him to make sure all is well. He is having a hard time adjusting to the upper grades so far. He had a hard 3rd grade year and I'm not sure how 4th grade will be. So I'd like to see for myself how things really are going. I was talking to my husband earlier about this prompt and it dawned on me that I would indeed use this ablility on both of my kids. Because the girl is a middle schooler and middle school nowadays is not the same middle school experience I had as a kid. But that would only be during the school hours. I'm not certain what I would do with the other hours I have left. Perhaps do a good deed community wise. But I wouldn't want the spotlight. So now, I literally can do something behind the scene and know that I did something good for another who may not be as blessed as me. I am always trying to be a people pleaser so I would most likely take advantage of the invisiblity to 'lisen in' to others that may speak of me. I know that people's opinon of me shouldn't matter but it does.

Next Week's Theme (8/30) -- Do you ever see yourself as a character in a television show or a movie? Share what (if anything) you have learned from watching it.

Invisibility would be super fun...but I would probably use it for my own gains instead of anything nice. For example, maybe skipping out on work and seeing what they say about me, sneaking into the movies, or spying on my "celebrity" crush. What, I never claimed to be perfect!

You know, I'm sure that I will feel the same way when my kids go to school!
